Education
- diploma of Higher Education
Responsibility
- generating conceptual 3D Models at Enquiry / Proposal stage and detailed 3D Models at Project stage
- performing pipe stress analysis using Caesar II software and producing detailed pipe stress reports
- creating 2D CAD drawings such as Piping Isometrics, fabrication drawings & GA’s for manufacture
- producing BOMs for purchasing
- working closely with Project Managers and Discipline Engineers to ensure safe & economical design
- reviewing & interpreting customer specifications and national / international codes & standards
- laying out pipe routing based on process drawings , pipe specifications and project requirements
- resolving technical queries and ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
Requirements
- proficient in CAD software
- knowledge of current legislation / relevant standards & piping codes, such as ASME B31.3 & British Standards
- working knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel & Robot Structure
- working toward professional registration
- previous experience in designing pipework / assemblies for bespoke engineering packages
- excellent communication, problem solving & interpersonal skills
- degree or HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- designing bespoke pipework/assemblies: 2 years
