Responsibility
oversee daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, and financial management
ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards
ensure compliance with HSE & COSHH
oversee administrative tasks such as invoicing and supplies procurement
liaise with accounts manager/bookkeeper
coordinate with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality care
implement and monitor business performance strategies to meet practice goals
lead recruitment, training, and development of support staff
Requirements
proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role, ideally within a veterinary or healthcare setting
strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
financial acumen with experience in budgeting and forecasting
knowledge of veterinary software and administrative processes is an advantage
A genuine passion for animal welfare and understanding of the veterinary industry
flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of a mixed practice

qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certifications or diplomas
previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not essential; new graduates are welcome to apply
strong laboratory skills with the ability to perform diagnostic tests accurately

working within the Abington and Moulton Practice on a rota
this role is challenging - both in terms of pace, and the range of knowledge required, and the ability to stay calm under pressure will be key to success

we have a local out of hours provider for our calls overnight, however we keep our inpatients with nursing care overnight to minimise transport for our poorly patients
