Working hours

Responsibility

  • lead and manage the HR function, overseeing the provision of an effective HR service and ensuring good practice across the organisation
  • continuously monitor and review HR policies, processes and HR documentation to ensure these reflect current employment law and practice
  • responsible for employee relations, including the management of absence, disciplinary procedures and grievances
  • accurately maintain all employee HR records in line with statutory requirements
  • ensure H&S policies and procedures are communicated, applied and enforced
  • lead on recruitment and selection processes; contracts of employment; staff induction; learning and development; talent and succession planning; performance appraisals, pay and benefits; managing change; administer payroll and payroll records
  • advise and support line managers in the handling of all employee relations matters and deal with general issues relating to employment law
  • lead on Health and Safety matters; carry out risk assessments, review processes, training and safe systems of work for all activities and tasks being undertaken. Maintain correct and accurate data for all H&S activities

Requirements

  • minimum of Level 5 CIPD qualified
  • demonstrable understanding of the importance of effective HR management
  • demonstrable knowledge of generic HR best practice and employment legislation
  • demonstratable experience of designing and implementing EDI initiatives
  • a proven EDI track record and be able to lead and embed cultural changes
  • experience of developing and implementing strategies
  • proven ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues as well as readiness to work pro-actively on your own initiative
