Requirements
- degree or equivalent professional qualification
- knowledge and experience of external data returns in HE, ideally Data Futures and Basic Compliance
- knowledge of data quality checking processes
- experienced in the application of a data software packages, databases and data analysis approaches
- A sound understanding of the relational database model and its implementation
- successful experience of working with users at different levels to resolve issues with processes or data systems
- ability to provide courteous and high standards of customer service
- high level of personal integrity and confidentiality and a strong attention to detail
Responsibility
- monitor and produce data statistics and reports, and be proactive in suggesting improvements to data quality, and auditing data within the student records system for items related to external returns and working with other departments to get issues resolved
- where data quality issues are identified, reviewing processes and liaising with the relevant teams to suggest improvements and prevent persistent issues from occurring in the future
- monitoring the websites and publications of HESA, OfS and other relevant agencies, for new and changed data reporting requirements, performance indicators, etc
