Responsibility

  • define and manage the safety, performance and operational requirements for in-service inspection and repair systems within the Nuclear Island
  • conduct feasibility studies and optioneering of design solutions for the in-service inspection and repair of LFR reactor components and progress their design from the concept stage through to completion of detailed design
  • review and manage the interfaces between systems, structures and components within the delegated scope of work and other elements of the LFR design, including review of 3D model interfaces within a BIM context and PLM system
  • manage the interface between the AS-30 and AS-200 design programmes and newcleo’s R&D activities to ensure the capabilities for validation and verification of the developed in-service inspection and repair solutions is available
  • contribute to the production of technical specifications for the manufacture or purchase of in-service inspection and repair equipment and associated design services, and technically evaluate bids received from suppliers
  • prepare design packs for, and participate in, kick-off meetings, review meetings, design meetings and studies relating to the assigned scope of work

Requirements

  • at least 5 years’ experience of the design and specification of in-service inspection and repair solutions for nuclear applications
  • experience in the application of relevant design codes, such as ASME XI or RSE-M
  • good knowledge of SolidWorks for 2D/3D modelling would also be beneficial
