Responsibility
- install windows in residential and commercial properties according to specifications and building regulations
- measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fitting of windows
- use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during installation processes
- read and interpret schematics to understand installation requirements
- perform masonry work as needed to prepare openings for window fittings
- ensure all installations are plumb, level, and square for optimal performance
- conduct repairs or adjustments on existing window installations when necessary
- collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and electricians, to complete projects efficiently
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Fitting Windows and Doors
- CSCS card required
- proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to window fitting tasks
- familiarity with building regulations and safety standards related to window installations
- ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- experience in masonry work is advantageous but not essential
- strong skills in carpentry, including building frames as required for window installations
- knowledge of basic electrical work may be beneficial for integrated window systems
