Responsibility

  • oversee the school's catering operations, ensuring the provision of healthy and balanced meals that meet nutritional guidelines
  • actively participate in the Healthy Schools initiative, promoting healthy eating habits and supporting educational programs related to nutrition
  • overseeing the financial aspects of the school's catering service, including budgeting, cost analysis, and contract negotiations with catering suppliers
  • ensuring that the catering service operates efficiently, provides quality meals to students and staff
  • collaborate with the school’s marketing team to develop effective strategies for promoting the school's catering services and increasing student engagement
  • work with the business manager to develop an income generation plan, including events and conferences
  • develop after school cookery/meal planning clubs as part of the school’s enrichment programme
  • ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, conducting regular audits, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas

Requirements

  • proven experience in catering and hospitality management, preferably within an educational setting
  • excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team and prioritise tasks effectively
  • excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
  • knowledge of marketing principles and experience in promoting catering and hospitality services is desirable
  • food Safety/Hygiene Certificate L3
  • food safety certification and knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations are essential
