Responsibility
- production of detailed design work for the Principal Engineer & Company Director
- undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports
- work with CAD/Revit Technicians for production of projects drawings
- lead design meetings, site meetings and carry out site inspections
- mentor and guide graduate /junior engineers
- work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines and with staff internally
- maintain client contact and ensure that project delivery meets the client’s objectives and requirements
- ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance with design codes of practice
Requirements
- structural Engineering
- analysis and Design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber structures to the relevant codes and standards
- analysis and Design of foundations & geotechnical structures
- analysis and Design using engineering software such as Statica, Axis VM FEM Modelling, Tekla Tedds
- preparation of Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Material takes offs, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, Inter discipline design coordination and supervision
- prepare design calculations, design to wind loads, developing design sketches and pass relevant information to designers as required on assigned projects
- liaise with Designers in the preparation of CAD drawings, typically using, Revit, AutoCAD
- liaise with other disciplines to accommodate their requirements and with the Design Team in the preparation of structural drawings and details
