Requirements

  • need to have experience of having worked for at-least two years, within the five year period before applying for this role
  • in a position relevant to the residential support of children or adults
  • strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by young people transitioning to independent living and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage a team effectively
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, staff, and external stakeholders
  • knowledge of quality assurance frameworks, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety regulations
  • strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands
  • proficiency in using technology for documentation, data management, and reporting

Responsibility

  • take overall responsibility for the management and operations of the supported accommodations for 16–18-year-olds
  • lead and supervise a team of support workers, providing guidance, support, and performance management
  • ensure the provision of high-quality care, support, and guidance to residents in accordance with relevant regulations and best practices
  • develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for residents
  • oversee the implementation of individualized support plans for each resident, ensuring their specific needs and goals are addressed
  • collaborate with external stakeholders, such as social workers, educational institutions, and local authorities, to ensure coordinated support and services for residents
  • promote and maintain effective communication and relationships with residents, their families, and relevant professionals
  • monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the supported accommodations, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes for residents
