Education
- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- minimum of 5 GCSE’s, HNC or HND in an engineering related field is highly desirable
- operation of small thermal power plant operation City and Guilds is desirable but not essential
- high Voltage switching City and Guilds is desirable but not essential
- understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues - minimum IOSH 1 day
- IT literate
- experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts
- ability to operate, or train to operate a variety of mobile equipment and fixed plant
- experience of process operations in a mechanical & electrical plant and relevant engineering experience
Responsibility
- monitor consumables stocks, oversee receipt of consumables / disposal of residues
- assist other Company staff and contractors as required
- carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management
- identify weak points of the plant and report to Shift Team Leader
- assist the Shift Team Leader with the operation, monitoring and control of plant from a central Control Room. Start-up / Shut down and operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the Biomass Plant, including mobile plant
- work within all Safety Rules , Health and Safety Policies and Site Procedures
- assist in ensuring day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Protection Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader
- work within the Company Environmental & Quality Systems
