  • develop and implement support plans tailored to each woman's needs, guiding them towards achieving their goals and gaining independence
  • this may look like tenancy support, applying for benefits, accessing other services in the area, applying for jobs or arranging childcare
  • as a Sexual Violence Peer Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in this transformative process
  • support women and children in conducting initial and ongoing needs assessments, as well as developing and implementing support plans

Requirements

  • previous experience in supporting individuals affected by Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse, and/or Sexual Violence is essential
  • knowledge of the challenges faced by women and children with multiple disadvantages is essential
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with service users
  • A good understanding of domestic violence/ abuse including the impact of domestic violence/ abuse on victims and their children
  • ability to manage referrals, conduct assessments, and develop tailored support plans
  • experience supporting vulnerable people or families, whether in a domestic violence service or other housing related support services
  • proficiency in advocating for service users and encouraging self-advocacy
  • the ability to work in a fast-paced and reactive environment
