Responsibility

  • actively manage all journals published based on agreed KPIs, and monitor competitors for new developments
  • target potential new authors and develop effective strategies for converting them to repeat authors in our journals
  • line management of the Editorial Operations Assistant
  • identify new topics for coverage and recruit Editors appropriately
  • commission Special Issues, from Conferences and other sources
  • location: London/Hybrid
  • our client, a leading society publisher, requires a new Editorial Operations Manager, who will be responsible for the performance of editors, Editorial Operations staff, reviewers and authors to ensure high-quality peer review, fast turnaround times, satisfied customers and consistent article output growth
  • you will monitor competitor journal performance, incorporating good practice into our own operations and making sure that our performance compares well and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement with journal editors

Requirements

  • experience working for an STM/Society Publisher
  • working in a physical and remote office environment
  • turning data into actionable information
  • journal Editorial and Production systems, best practices and technologies
