Responsibility
- create estimates using electronic estimating software to produce accurate and profitable tenders/quotations to meet the requirements given by the client
- determine product requirements and source quality material quotations that meet necessary standards whilst achieving the best possible price
- obtain quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers, meeting with providers where required to set specific standards
- negotiate favourable contract terms
- maintain and record tender/quotation details in company database and ensure accurate record keeping
- offer value engineering ideas to maintain profitability of project
- to follow up on quotations to obtain information on the outcome to identify areas for improvement in future quotations
- liaise with Directors, to discuss projects, risks, agree rates, quotations, and profit margins
Requirements
- previous experience of mechanical building services estimating
- good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work at all levels
- ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- good presentation skills both written and verbal
- ability to prioritise workload, work to tight deadlines
- demonstrate contractual understanding of tenders
- demonstrate understanding of Building regulations and ACOPs
- demonstrate an understanding of electronic software programs and of product systems used within the industry
