Responsibility
- at M&G our purpose is to help people manage and grow their savings and investments, responsibly
- construction and ongoing monitoring on model portfolios, taking into account the asset allocation, target market, costs, tactical views and instruments available
- daily creation and maintenance of private and complex asset types on the internal investment platform to support key stakeholders

- responsible for making investment decisions and instructing the operations team to carry out model changes
- gathering, disseminating and reporting MI through appropriate governance channels
- source and manage the oversight of data from third party providers, escalating to the appropriate business unit where necessary
- monitor portfolio performance, exposures and risk, including preparing reporting for committees
- helping to identify areas for improvement

- understanding business requirements, and designing technical solutions – in conjunction with our architecture team and engineering squads
- manage the shared mailbox on behalf of the Investment Data Management Team, including support of third-party queries
- work with the Business Development team to promote MGWI’s services to potential clients and represent MGWI at conferences and events
- stay current with all industry and regulatory developments to ensure the process adapts over time and remains relevant
- providing guidance to Sponsor and senior stakeholders state of readiness, risk management and recommendations as to “go-live” decisions

- configuring changes in Aladdin, and working with BRS on new feature requests
- liaise and work collaboratively with Investment Data Management’s key stakeholders including Fund Managers, Dealers, Credit Analysts, Performance, Risk, Compliance, Client Reporting, and Investment Operations
- support the implementation of controls and procedures throughout the Investment Data Sourcing Team
- develop marketing content for existing and potential clients, including portfolio positioning, performance, presentations and market outlooks
- be lead manager of the £600mn European smaller companies' equity strategy Risk management, research, modelling, stock picking, company visits, quarterly meetings with the client, and contribute to the further commercialisation of the strategy
- risk oversight for onboarding of new external fund managers, suppliers & outsourcers in line with the wider Target Operating Model and Third Party Risk Framework
- business analysis, ranging from business process through to data integration analysis
- work closely with a wide variety of teams to provide oversight and risk considerations for the operational due diligence on new and existing managers & suppliers
- ensuring preparations for the delivery of Migration are controlled, communicated, understood and achieved without negative external impacts and disruption to Customer and Adviser communities
- proactively realise opportunities for improvements to drive change across the Investment Data Management Team
- assist the MGWI Chief Investment Officer with projects and research
- ensure appropriate risk assessments are performed by the relevant third party management BAU teams and the operational model is in line with policy
- attending daily stand-up meetings with the engineering and change management teams
- ensuring that the required implementation plans are in place, including third party implementation/transition & cutover activities are planned, agreed and tracked to completion
- ensure compliance guidelines and FCA regulations are adhered to
- manage direct reports; conducting regular 1:1’s to understand progress and issues, annual performance reviews and appraisals
- source and verify data quality from appropriate sources to ensure it is accurate and supplied in a timely manner against the business data requirements, ensuring it is fully supported within all required systems
- provide subject matter expert support for strategic projects
- responsible for oversight and readiness tracking across M&G ahead of go live and the oversight of third party Operational readiness and tracking
- responsible for oversight of client appointed third parties aligned to business and regulatory requirements
- adhere to internal guidelines and client investment objectives
- supporting with people change management activities following the release of new functionality
Requirements
- experience within the Front Office of an Asset Management organisation
- track record in relevant Financial Services role. Prior experience in managing model portfolios on UK platforms is preferred
- experience of Business Readiness & Implementation within a Transformation Programme
