Requirements
- part qualified accountant with a recognised body
- experience of working as a management accountant or similar role
- good understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting requirements
- strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret high volumes of financial data
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- A high degree of organisational and strategic thinking skills
- knowledge of accounting systems
- capable of working effectively within a small team
Responsibility
- as the Management Accountant at Mercuryo you will play a key role in the accounting and reporting operations of the whole business, covering multiple group entities
- reporting directly to the Head of Group Reporting, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting including balance sheet analysis which will assist in providing financial guidance to support business decision-making
- support strong balance sheet control through detailed monthly reconciliations
- assist with the annual external audit
- monitoring of regulatory capital level of the EMI business
- preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for each entity, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and cost reports, in line with month end close timetables
- variance analysis to prior periods and the budget
- maintain strong balance sheet control through detailed monthly reconciliations
