Requirements
- QCF level 5 in leadership and management in children’s residential or be 50% though working towards this
- sound knowledge of governing legislation, procedures and best practice in caring for looked after children
- willingness to increase knowledge through ongoing training
- experience of managing residential EBD homes
- minimum of 5 years residential experience 2 of which at a supervisory level in the last 5 years
- 2-year managerial experience in a residential home at deputy level or above
- experience of working with CSE / CCE
- experience of working with Autism, Asperger and other mental health conditions
Responsibility
- to ensure that services and support are provided in a person-centred way, using person centred approaches
- to ensure the care and safety of staff and of service users when they are residing at the homes
- the day-to-day management and administration of the home in accordance with statutory regulations and company policies
- to maintain personal and professional development and participate in appropriate training activities to aid the development of your skillset
- to undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the Directorate’s Health and Safety Policy
- to be a registered manager responsible for the maintenance of registration standards as laid down in the Children’s Home Regulations and Care Standards 2015 and as regulated by OFSTED
- to provide suitable on-call arrangements on occasions when there are no managers on the premises
