  • the multidisciplinary therapy team works in collaboration with a well-resourced, experienced and skilled workforce of nurses, nursing associates and carers to deliver complex, individualised, holistic care to residents of all ages
  • experience of IDDSI framework for food textures and thickening drinks; and of guiding and training others in feeding techniques, equipment and textures are vital parts of the role

  • HR Responsibilities Support the HR Manager with confidential HR administration
  • each home has 14 residents and a high staff to resident ratio, ensuring the highest standards of care
  • inform and/or escalate to the HR Manager, as required
  • the manager and deputy for each home are registered nurses, providing a superbly supportive environment for the whole care team
  • liaise with hiring managers regarding the recruitment process; keeping them and the HR Manager informed with progress at all times
  • we also have our own therapy team consisting of Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, music and aromatherapy specialists
  • prepare and place recruitment adverts , as requested by the HR Manager; monitor response rates and produce monthly reports
  • conduct telephone screening interviews, as required

Responsibility

  • undertake the role of Primary Nurse for specific, allocated residents. Ensure their care file is regularly reviewed and updated
  • involve residents as far as possible in the development of their care plans
  • care plans should reflect all activities of daily living
  • be directly involved in the delivery of resident care and establish a good understanding of their needs
  • regularly undertake the role of Nurse-In-Charge , co-ordinating the shift to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the residents and conduct the smooth running of the home
  • develop links with all residents’ relatives, care agencies and professional staff to facilitate seamless care delivery
  • this requires excellent team co-operation, supervising staff and instructing them to adhere to care plans, policies and procedures, and in line with their training
  • chair internal care reviews and attend meetings pertaining to those residents for whom you are primary nurse
