- we are partnering with a Global Trade Finance specialist Firm who are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead their Central Operations function providing expert support to the relevant functions in the firm
- the job older is also charged with identifying, mitigating and monitoring all operational risks within these areas

- preparing the daily Liquidity Report in the absence of the accountant
- monthly passing of entries for accrued income, liabilities and prepaid expenses

- the position holder is responsible for overseeing the Central Operations, which cover activities such as Payments/ remittance and Trade Finance Operations areas

- assist RM's with onsite / offsite client meetings helping find best client solutions
- co–ordinate all relevant bank operations in an efficient and effective manner so that customer service is optimised to meet business strategy and plans

- prepare regular MI and analysis for senior management for effective monitoring and control
- adherence to Head Office and Internal Operating procedures to produce accurate work thereby retaining professional image of the Bank and maintain high customer service levels
- review and enhance department delivery processes with a view to ensure that a smooth workflow within the department, reduced turnaround times and costs, higher levels of efficiency are achieved

- liaise with the team to produce data to be used in the Corporation Tax calculations
- preparation of quarterly VAT Returns, quarterly payment of income tax deducted on interest payments, monthly payment of National Insurance and PAYE Income Tax, and assistance in the preparation of annual Corporation Tax Returns
- lead and motivate teams, acting as a 'change agent' so that transformation and development programmes are created and then carried out with commitment and to agreed timescales and standards
- ensure that monitoring of customer transactions and settlement is at the required standard and report any exceptions to relevant department

Requirements
- at least 5 years' experience in banking
- recent graduate 2020-22
- degree holder and must be at least part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA

- deep understanding of all Trade Finance products, import and Export LCs, Guarantees, collections, Discounting, Forfaiting, Confirmations, Risk Participations
- detailed knowledge of documentary credits and all applicable ICC rules and publications
- qualified CDCS, CITF or CTFC required, or agreed to undertake within two years
- experience gained in a small foreign bank will be a distinct advantage
- knowledge of UCP 600, ISP98, URDG 758, URC 522 and other relevant ICC publications
- strong communication skills

- ideally hold previous finance experience at a bank
- good overall understanding of the bank payments processes, complaint handling and retail customer services
- negotiating / advising / amending
- demonstrated ability of managing liquidity reports, NOSTRO accounts, budget forecasting, reconciliations of balance sheet
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail
- knowledge on Money Laundering procedures and UK Proceeds of Crime Act
- degree level education relatable to banking/business desirable
- awareness of UK and OFAC sanction policies and experience with Restricted Counterparty Checks and IMB Checks
- minimum 2 year's documentary credits experience within the banking sector. Experience must include exposure to document checking, trade finance payments and SWIFT
