graduate structural engineer
Working hours
- full-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- produce detailed structural calculations from design drawings as required by project brief
- manage and carry out technical aspects of projects - reports, drawings, and prepare specifications as required by project brief
- liaising with senior staff to identify and manage project risks - commercial, design and construction
- monitor, check and control work outputs/costs during the progress of the project and agree additional work with the lead design engineer
- liaise with senior management to ensure that the clients and company’s interests are safeguarded
- ensure that your own projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way
- delivery of projects including liaising with members of the design team and project managers as appropriate to establish a clear definition of the project requirements
- assist, supervise and mentor team members as required with regards to both technical and professional development
Education
- bachelor's
- BSc or MEng Degree in Civil Engineering or similar approved/appropriate subject
- A chartered engineer or post graduate experience and working towards Chartered Engineer status
- clear practical understanding and use of Autodesk Robot or similar
- up to date knowledge of Codes of Practice, Euro Codes, British Standards and Building Regulations
- ability to use Inventor, Revit and produce 2D/3D modelling and familiar with other licensed software such as PDS, Auto Cad, Master series
