• whichever the setup, the teacher will be by his side whether that is in the school classroom or at home

• the candidate will be expected to teach the Year 1 curriculum so a knowledge of this is essential

• this family is looking for a teacher to work 1 to 1 with their 5 year old boy who is suspected to be on the Autism spectrum
• there are two boys in total although your focus will be with the 5 year old
• currently, the boy is struggling with being in the classroom and the family is now looking at options for him to either be home-schooled for a year or a hybrid setup where he spends some time in school and some time at home to do his learning
• both boys are extremely loving, bright, creative, imaginative and kind
• in terms of the candidate, the family is looking for a trained teacher, ideally SEN but also open to primary trained teachers as they would typically have worked with a range of SEN children
• they respond well to creative and engaging people but also need someone that understands them and can be kind and calm
• they adore books, being read stories and baths in the evenings, both of which have a hugely calming effect on them
• the boy is certainly showing signs of being very able in certain subjects whilst the rest of his academic profile is at expected levels for his age
• they both will attend local academic pre-preps
• they struggle with transitions and in the evenings can be tired and require more understanding and support of the huge amount of energy they expend at school
• you may work from time to time with the older boy but only if there is spare time
• only qualified SEN teachers will be considered for this post; please only apply if you meet this criteria
