MAJOR DOMICILE is looking for employees for positions:

support worker

Working hours

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent
  • skills for Care certificates

Responsibility

  • may be required to take charge of the home/service in absence of the senior and managers
  • to work as a member of the team in the provision of care and support services for people with autism, learning disabilities and/or associated behaviors; which aims to maximise the potential of individuals in line with ordinary life principles
  • carry out administrative tasks as and when required
  • assist the senior/manager in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning. Review and monitor care plans/contribute to review reports as directed
  • participate in staff and young people meetings as and when required. Maintain appropriate records as directed
  • act as a key worker to a specified individual young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support. This includes ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the individual to advocate his/her own needs and wishes
  • attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required in and out of work hours
  • ensure special cleaning rota is followed exactly and recorded

Requirements

  • experience in a similar setting
  • knowledge of care planning systems
  • other relevant training e.g. Team Teach
  • commitment to undertake relevant training and development
  • ability to work towards and complete a Level 5 diploma within a fixed time frame
  • interest in autism and a passion for inclusion
  • commitment to the aims and objectives of the service as a whole
