Responsibility

  • to support the Manager to maintain a high-quality service working in partnership with the Senior Management Team
  • to drive the care team by working alongside them, and ensuring care needs are met
  • as Deputy you will be responsible for supporting the Manager with the operational day-to-day management of the care home, ensuring continued compliance with relevant legislation, CQC requirements and Local Authority Commissioning specifications
  • in the Manager’s absence, you will be responsible for undertaking the role and expectations of the Manager and, working in partnership with the Senior Management Team you will ensure the provision of a high-quality service enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available resources

  • to support the Manager to ensure compliance with Development, Training and Supervision policies
  • to support the Manager to ensure the maintenance of confidential, current and accurate records in compliance with Information Governance

Requirements

  • the deputy, with the Manager, ensuring that the guidelines regarding ‘Team Member of the Month’ are adhered to
  • to ensure that all new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with contractual and organisational timescales
  • in the absence of the Manager, the deputy will produce weekly Staff Rotas ensuring effective deployment of staff to meet the needs of the residents and giving staff adequate notice of shifts
  • in the absence of the Manager, the deputy maintaining, in conjunction with the Administrator, the Training Matrix for all staff employed at Saxon Lodge Residential Care Home
  • the Manager and the deputy undertaking regular staff competency checks on all elements of care given and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards etc)
  • the deputy, where required, providing bi-monthly supervision for some care staff. Senior Management Team will provide monthly supervision for the Manager and the Deputy Manager
