Responsibility
- assist the Head Chef in the management and supervision of kitchen staff
- ensure that all dishes are prepared to a high standard and in a timely manner
- manage kitchen stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- adhere to all food safety and health regulations, including HACCP and health & safety standards
- oversee food preparation and presentation during service, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standard
- assist Head Chef in menu construction and dish design
Requirements
- proven experience as a Sous Chef in a busy, high end kitchen environment
- excellent culinary skills and the ability to work with a variety of ingredients and cooking techniques
- strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of kitchen staff
- A good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP and health & safety standards
- ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
