Responsibility

  • to ensure all financial aspects of the business are accurately completed
  • provide first class administrative support and personal assistance to the Nursery Manager
  • process invoices input on to a computer system
  • cash entry and allocation
  • bank reconciliation to bank statements/cash book
  • deal with payroll for 27 staff. Make PAYE/NI monthly payments
  • general ledger entries including production of all monthly accruals and prepayments
  • holiday reporting

  • oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organisational policies
  • lead, motivate, and support nursery staff to deliver exceptional childcare and early education services
  • develop and implement programmes that promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • manage staffing rotas, recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to maintain a high standard of care
  • build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and updates on their child's progress
  • ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed to provide a safe environment for children and staff
  • organise staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to foster continuous improvement
  • monitor nursery budgets and resource allocation to ensure efficient operation

Requirements

  • proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively
  • extensive experience working with children in childcare or nursery environments
  • knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
  • valid driving licence is preferred for operational flexibility
  • childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent are essential
  • demonstrated understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to childcare settings
  • ability to organise workload efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail
