Requirements
experience in writing Education Health & Care Plans or similar documents related to special educational needs is preferred
knowledge of the legal framework and legislation governing EHCPs in the UK, especially in the context of Nottingham
excellent written communication skills and attention to detail to create accurate and comprehensive EHCPs
strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
empathetic and sensitive approach when working with children, young people, and their families
knowledge of local services and resources available to support children and young people with SEND in Nottingham is advantageous
ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND
Responsibility
to maintain a base level of theoretical knowledge about common conditions and their implications, such as neurological conditions, developmental delays, sensory processing issues, etc
assessment and Collaboration: Work closely with parents, carers, teachers, educational professionals, health and social care providers, and external agencies to gather relevant information about the child or young person's needs, strengths, and aspirations
plan Development: Utilize gathered information to write and develop EHCPs, ensuring that the plans are tailored to meet the specific needs of each child or young person, as per the statutory requirements and local guidelines
record Keeping: Keep accurate records of all EHCP-related activities, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations
