- the ability to build a good relationship and demonstrate high levels of empathy, whilst maintaining professional boundaries
- the ability to effectively address challenging behaviour and lack of engagement
- knowledge and understanding of the support needs and challenges facing vulnerable adults experiencing mental health problems
- good communication, note writing skills and time management
