Education

  • participate in the teaching and training of Genetic Technologists, Pre-registration Scientists and other professional groups as required
  • participate in regular performance review and personal development planning

Responsibility

  • help and advise other staff to support and resolve IT/Informatics issues , and liaise with the Trust IM&T department where appropriate
  • attend regular team, laboratory and departmental meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies
  • abide by all Operational Policies applicable to the Department
  • participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, as required by the Director
  • undertake any other duties commensurate with experience and job role as a result of changes to the service as agreed by the Consultant Head of Laboratory or Trust and reviewed as part of the annual staff appraisal
  • contribute to the development of the informatics requirements for changes in the laboratorys test repertoire and methodology, in line with the latest specification of the NHSE Genomics Medicine Service test directory
  • cover the work of colleagues in the Informatics Team as appropriate, including supporting information technology within the department, during periods of absence or peak workloads
