maintenance technician
Working hours
- apprenticeship
Responsibility
- mechanical and/or electrical modification of production equipment in order to drive continuous improvement
- maintenance and repair of standard equipment including presses and tooling
- maintenance and repair of Bespoke Automation and knitting equipment
- implement improvement programmes on existing equipment to drive OEE
- assist in the design and build of special purpose equipment
- assist in the development of new manufacturing methods for new products
- program and operate test equipment
- assist the introduction of new machines and processes to production
Requirements
- be apprenticeship trained and/or HNC or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical discipline
- be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- electrical training or qualifications would be a distinct advantage
- mechanical experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems essential
- computer literate
- ability to use and program PLC and Inverter drives an advantage but not essential
- understanding and experience with sensors, PLC’s, HMI’s and drives preferred
- trained and proficient in the use of basic workshop equipment including manual lathe, miller, pillar drill, surface grinder hand tools, etc
