Responsibility
- an exciting opportunity to join London business operating in the fast-moving pallet distribution sector as a Transport Compliance Manager
- the daily duties of this position will be compliance-focused with minimal day-to-day operational involvement
- we operate over 40 HGV vehicles across two sites in Thamesmead and Barking providing collection and delivery services on behalf of Europe’s leading pallet network
- this role which reports directly to the Managing Director and support the Operation and Planning team's requires a CPC qualified manager with a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar environment
- the role will be supported by various operational personnel and management but the successful candidate will take full responsibility in delivering transport compliance excellence
- review and implement all training requirements, operational staff and drivers
- managing the defect records
- ensuring all vehicles are taxed

- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- holder of International Road Transport CPC
- minimum of 2 years’ experience operating as an accountable operational Transport Supervisor/Manager in a medium to large-scale operation
- comprehensive understanding of transport, drivers and plant operation legislation. Transport related COSHH and Health & Safety requirements would be beneficial
- should have excellent person management and relationship skills
- needs to be a practical manager, willing to be hands-on and lead change from the front
- working knowledge of FORS accreditation would be beneficial
