Responsibility
- developing existing and new relationships with growers and suppliers across the UK and internationally
- responsible for risk management and mitigation to ensure supply from growers and suppliers for customers throughout the year
- we have an exciting new role for a Commercial Procurement candidate to join our UK team. Accountable for the relationship management and development of procurement for product groups through excellent relationships with the grower/supplier
- responsible for negotiating the best terms and price with suppliers and growers
- determine the most effective packing solutions to deliver cost / margin and customer satisfaction
- responsible for management and balancing stock control, stock levels, waste, giveaway and claims to deliver high performance profitability whilst delivering service
- responsible for the product procurement and ensuring working with Senior Procurement Manager to ensure we have a strong procurement plan to deliver our customer requirements
- responsible for ensuring wastage is kept to budgeted levels and implement actions plans to avoid targets that exceed expectation
Requirements
- fresh produce industry experience in procurement management
- prior knowledge of veg, fruit and salad procurement would be advantageous not essential
- excellent all-round communication skills
- team orientated
- experience of developing supplier relationships
- proven negotiating skills
- commercially astute and highly analytical
- excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
