Responsibility

  • you will be working on all makes and models of vehicle, doing everything from fitting tyres to cam belts
  • you will be expected to work productively as the volume of work changes
  • you will be expected to listen to and respect the workshop/garage manager
  • you will need to be confident enough to work independently on certain jobs - the role is challenging and exciting, so there are always opportunities to improve skills
  • however, a big part of the job is working with other mechanics and admin/reception staff so there is always support from a senior employee. Working as a team is essential to ensure the smooth running of the workshop

Requirements

  • experience working in a garage
  • experience working as a semi-skilled technician
  • have achieved Level 2/3 qualification
  • have achieved Level 2 qualification, working towards Level 3

  • familiar with QuickBooks accounting software and raising/writing invoices
  • efficient in typing and able to learn to use different computer systems with ease
  • an understanding of vehicle maintenance/servicing
  • can deliver excellent customer service
  • experience working in a vehicle repair garage
  • confident communicating with customers over the phone in a clear and professional manner
  • confident communicating with both workshop staff and customers to manage expectations and maintain customer satisfaction

  • qualified with atleast 5 years experience
  • experience working in a garage
  • knowledge of all makes and models of vehicle prefered
  • MOT tester or happy to train as one
  • experience working as a semi-skilled technician
  • welding experience helpful but not essential
  • have achieved Level 2/3 qualification
  • vehicle technician: 5 years
