Responsibility
- producing conceptual 3D CAD drawings in Solidworks based on the client’s specifications
- this may include utilising images and point cloud data generated from a Leica imaging laser scanner
- developing these concepts into detailed drawings, including fixings and joints, for the client’s sign off
- A valid UK driver’s license is therefore essential
- the ideal candidate will be able to immediately hit the ground running and to work independently
- we’re looking for an experienced CAD technician to join the team at John George Fine Cabinetry, designing one of a kind fitted & freestanding furniture and interior joinery to client specifications
- the successful candidate will be subcontracted 1-day per week to provide design services to local manufacturers, British Spirals & Castings, who produce bespoke staircases, railings, balconies and balustrades
- in this role, you will be responsible for liaising with John George Fine Cabinetry's Director and the Managing and Operations Directors of British Spirals & Castings to produce bespoke product designs within Solidworks based on client briefs
Requirements
- at least 2-3 years’ experience working with Solidworks –essential
- previous experience in product design for cabinetry and manufacturing
- experience of 3D Scanners and utilising point cloud data would be advantageous
- solidWorks: 2 years
