  • responsible for basic machine maintenance and cleaning, good attention to detail, and organisational skills essential
  • set the controls on the machine as defined in the Work Instructions, including the setting of the machine controls
  • use appropriate measuring equipment to check settings are in specification
  • ensure that correct Work Instructions are available and that the computer database is fully updated
  • plan work schedules, provide guidance for production team members

  • installation: Install and commission packaging machinery and equipment at customer facilities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards
  • servicing: Perform routine maintenance and servicing of installed equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • breakdown Response: Diagnose and repair faults on packaging equipment, often under time pressure, to minimize disruption to customer operations
  • technical Support: Provide technical support and advice to customers, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices
  • documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including detailed reports of work performed, parts used, and customer feedback
  • travel: Regular travel to customer sites across the North of Ireland / ROI
  • customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as the face of JMC Packaging Ltd. in the field
  • health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, both on-site and within the company

Requirements

  • technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with experience in PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems
  • education: A relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred
  • problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer needs
  • driving License: Full, clean driving license is required
  • experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service engineering role, preferably within the food packaging or food processing sectors
