operate the machine efficiently and skillfully and in line with the Company’s Quality control
challenge existing processes and strive to improve standards and maximise performance
responsible for basic machine maintenance and cleaning, good attention to detail, and organisational skills essential
set the controls on the machine as defined in the Work Instructions, including the setting of the machine controls
use appropriate measuring equipment to check settings are in specification
ensure that correct Work Instructions are available and that the computer database is fully updated
plan work schedules, provide guidance for production team members
pro-active approach to ensuring that the machine runs smoothly at all times; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess and evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify problems
Requirements
proven experience at running machinery in a manufacturing environment
flexible attitude, desire to learn new skills and to succeed
understanding of production planning
ability to work independently as well as part of a team
strong numeracy skills – understand tolerances and use of measuring equipment
strong written and verbal communication skills

installation: Install and commission packaging machinery and equipment at customer facilities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards
servicing: Perform routine maintenance and servicing of installed equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
breakdown Response: Diagnose and repair faults on packaging equipment, often under time pressure, to minimize disruption to customer operations
technical Support: Provide technical support and advice to customers, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices
documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including detailed reports of work performed, parts used, and customer feedback
travel: Regular travel to customer sites across the North of Ireland / ROI
customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as the face of JMC Packaging Ltd. in the field
health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, both on-site and within the company
Requirements
technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with experience in PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems
education: A relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred
problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues
communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer needs
driving License: Full, clean driving license is required
experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service engineering role, preferably within the food packaging or food processing sectors
