Responsibility
- assemble cabinets and furniture components according to design specifications
- fabricate custom cabinetry using a variety of materials, including wood, laminate, and veneer
- perform joinery techniques to ensure strong and lasting constructions
- use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials
- paint or finish surfaces as required to achieve desired aesthetics
- collaborate with designers and clients to understand project requirements and make necessary adjustments
- maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use
- adhere to safety standards while operating machinery and handling materials
Requirements
- proficient in the use of power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders
- strong knowledge of hand tools used in woodworking and cabinetry
- experience in joinery techniques, including dovetailing and mortise-and-tenon joints
- ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- familiarity with masonry techniques is an advantage but not essential
- competence in painting techniques for finishing cabinetry is desirable
- strong problem-solving skills with an ability to plumb structures accurately during assembly
- excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
