Requirements
- logistics
- demonstrable experience of working as a Warehouse Shift Manager within a fast moving Unionised environment
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- experience within an automotive environment
- people management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas
- planning and organising skills
- analytical ability
- the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Responsibility
- leading the team to achieve all Warehouse objectives and targets whilst managing continuous improvement of the Warehouse and operations
- undertake on call weekends on a rotational basis
- efficient resource planning
- manage Receipt, Picking and Despatch teams
- chair Warehouse team meetings, organise daily/weekly workforce briefings to ensure direct reports and associates understand company expectations and targets
- all accidents/incidents to be fully investigated and concluded with robust actions
- monitor sickness absence including ensuring that the sickness absence database is updated correctly
- manage absence cover and succession planning
