  • demonstrable experience of working as a Warehouse Shift Manager within a fast moving Unionised environment
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • experience within an automotive environment
  • people management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas

  • the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Responsibility

  • leading the team to achieve all Warehouse objectives and targets whilst managing continuous improvement of the Warehouse and operations
  • undertake on call weekends on a rotational basis
  • efficient resource planning
  • manage Receipt, Picking and Despatch teams
  • chair Warehouse team meetings, organise daily/weekly workforce briefings to ensure direct reports and associates understand company expectations and targets
  • all accidents/incidents to be fully investigated and concluded with robust actions
  • monitor sickness absence including ensuring that the sickness absence database is updated correctly
  • manage absence cover and succession planning
