communications manager
Responsibility
- ensuring rigorous media training is provided for relevant members of the Social Impact team and briefing spokespeople ahead of interview
- developing and implementing a PR and communications strategy that supports our ambition to deliver long-term, sustainable social impact and aligns with IGD’s broader communications objectives
- demonstrating the value of the corporate communications team and embedding communications as an integral part of the marketing toolkit at IGD
- using all channels where relevant to raise the profile of our Social Impact pillars, projects and industry network, e.g., PR, media partnerships, social media, speaking engagements and customer advocacy
- building excellent relationships with trade, national and international media through proactive communications and incoming media queries, as well as building ongoing partnerships with trusted media outlets and journalists
- working closely with the Social Impact marketing team to ensure our PR and media work aligns with their priorities and drives all relevant opportunities for growing scale and impact
- maintaining awareness of and sharing intelligence about the wider media and political landscape internally, to manage risk and prepare for potential crises; helping with the media response from IGD in the event of a crisis
- working as a critical member of IGD’s communications team, demonstrating the right behaviours and values and ensuring we adopt a 'customer first’ approach
