Responsibility

  • ensure the proper and safe storage of all equipment and materials
  • weekly fire alarm testing
  • take reasonable action to keep all low-level drains, downspouts, waste pipes etc. clean and clear of minor blockages that are clearly visible. If unachievable, report to School Business Manager
  • working under the direction of the School Business Manager to be responsible for the general maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school and to maintain the premises in a clean, safe, sound and secure condition for staff, pupils, parents and community users
  • assist in the ordering of domestic consumables
  • report any need for repair of maintenance work to the School Business Manager
  • ensure that adequate supplies of domestic consumables are available in all toilets e.g. paper towels, soap, toilet roll
  • carry out a daily perimeter check for hazards, damages and intruders when opening and closing and to record any actions
