Responsibility
dealing effectively with breakdowns to minimise production downtime
engaging with external service providers and/or suppliers to complete projects, organising site visits, installations etc. as required
demonstrating good fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of technologies including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
generating and maintaining a regular maintenance schedule e.g. lubricating machinery, replacing parts, and performing safety inspections
approaching challenges with a positive attitude and being motivated to solve problems which arise
completing specific assignments, both electrical and mechanical, to maintain or improve the efficiency of the operation
recommending upgrades and/or replacements as necessary
managing and maintaining spare parts inventory
Requirements
A time-served Modern Engineering Apprenticeship or a recognised engineering qualification such as HNC or City & Guilds
ideally electrically biased with strong mechanical knowledge gained in the Manufacturing sector
qualified to 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations, Ideally, a time-served Electrician
able to safely carry out electrical testing on machinery and be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings
strong fault finding and repair experience
flexible and willing to work out-of-hours on occasion e.g. to attend an unexpected breakdown
maintenance: 5 years
several years’ experience working in a Factory environment is desirable, with working knowledge and an ability to troubleshoot industrial control systems
