Responsibility
- preparing and Processing of Purchase orders to existing and new suppliers for materials, tooling, consumables and services required
- running MRP and analysing requirements before purchasing required materials
- negotiation with suppliers in terms of product quality, delivery and cost to ensure continuity of supply
- exploring and identifying new sources of supply to maintain competitive supply sources and reduce cost
- maintaining a database of approved suppliers and obtaining required information and certification for set up of new suppliers
- assisting Accounts department in processing Proforma invoices and resolving invoicing queries
- expediting overdue orders with suppliers
- preparing RFQ for required materials and processes
Requirements
- experience of working in a manufacturing business
- experience of purchasing engineered and standard parts
- ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous
- ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
- commercial and financial awareness
- computer literate, proficient in the use of MS Office applications, MRP system experience
- demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail with strong problem solving abilities
- ability to work to tight deadlines with good understanding of impacts of supply delays on business
