Responsibility

  • perform power system protection studies, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis, and recommend appropriate protective device settings
  • develop schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for power system protection and control equipment
  • collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to integrate protection and control systems into overall power system designs
  • evaluate and select appropriate protection and control devices, such as protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and communication systems
  • participate in factory testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of power system protection and control equipment
  • stay updated with the latest advancements in power system protection and control technologies and recommend improvements to existing designs
  • as a Power System Protection and Control Design Engineer at HV Energy Solutions, you will play a key role in designing and implementing protection and control schemes for high voltage power systems
  • design, develop, and implement protective relaying schemes and control systems for high voltage power systems, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • strong background in power system protection and control design, including experience with relay coordination, power system modeling, and fault analysis
  • knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including ANSI, IEC, and IEEE
  • familiarity with high voltage power systems, including substation equipment, transformers, switchgear, and transmission lines
  • excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex power system issues
  • strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • proficiency in using industry-standard software tools for power system analysis and control design, such as AutoCad, ETAP, PSCAD, Digsilent PowerFactory, or similar
  • experience with communication protocols and interfaces commonly used in power system protection and control, such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, etc
