  • we are recruiting for a Commis Chef who will be required to work as required for an average of 36-46 hours per week over 4/5 days
  • we do take great pride in the fact that we will offer to give you the very best work life balance possible with hours that suit your home life as well as our business requirements
  • you will be expected to support the Chef in all aspects of running the kitchen with the freedom for you to be your own person and work in your own way - we believe in allowing our team to grow and develop their own style

Responsibility

  • help in the preparation and design of all food menus
  • produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • fill in for the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • maintain a positive and professional approach with co workers and customers

Requirements

  • understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • familiar with industry’s best practices
  • working knowledge of various computer software programs
  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef / Chef de Partie
