  • bricklayer

Responsibility

  • lay bricks or other masonry units to build walls, arches, chimneys, and other structures
  • mix mortar or grout according to specifications
  • cut or shape bricks using hand tools or power tools
  • align bricks or masonry units using plumb lines, levels, or straightedges
  • apply mortar between bricks or masonry units using trowels
  • repair or replace damaged bricks or masonry units
  • clean excess mortar from finished surfaces
  • follow safety procedures and use protective equipment when necessary

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
  • proficiency in working with power tools such as saws, drills, and grinders
  • proficient in masonry techniques and tools
  • familiarity with hand tools used in masonry work such as trowels, hammers, and chisels
  • ability to read blueprints and follow construction plans
  • knowledge of different types of masonry materials including bricks, concrete blocks, and stones
  • knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • experience with welding or carpentry is a plus
