Responsibility

  • develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents in a <care> setting
  • the role will involve arranging trips out, facilitating activities as well as engaging other staff to facilitate activities
  • plan and coordinate a variety of engaging activities, events, and outings
  • ensure activities are tailored to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents
  • collaborate with staff, residents, and families to gather input and feedback on activity programs
  • maintain accurate records of resident participation and program outcomes
  • the position is a brand new and exciting position, brought about by a reorganisation of the company. There will be two activity coordinators who will work 10am-4pm over 7 days
  • we are looking to hire an outgoing, innovative activity coordinator, who has elderly care, or child care experience who can engage with our residents, find out their life stories, hobbies and interests and then develop a diverse activity planner alongside the other activity coordinator

Requirements

  • knowledge of working in a care home for elderly persons
  • previous experience working as an Activities Director or in a similar role
  • knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and practices
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with cognitive impairments or physical disabilities

  • conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
  • be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
  • support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc

  • diploma in Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce or willing to work towards
  • experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
  • full driving licence
