Responsibility
- responsible for an account base of around £600,000pa
- identify new business opportunities via cold calling, general prospecting in areas that we consider suitable
- gain a clear understanding of customers businesses and identify their needs and requirements

- reporting to the Senior Sales Manager we are looking for an experienced Key Account and Business Development Manager to come and join our team
- able to generate own business leads and convert to new sales
- the role would be a mixture of managing existing accounts and growing new business. You would be responsible for an account base of arround £600,000pa, as well as being tasked with adding new business
- the candidate would have to be based in either South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire or North Nottinghamshire to be considered
- follow and gather feedback on quotations sent
- with this role being external based, you would be expected to visit both established Key Accounts as well as new prospects each day, possibly with a full office day each week
- attend weekly sales meetings with the Senior Sales Manager to update and discuss current customers, new projects and new leads
- the expectancy is for you to manage these key accounts and ensure repeat business, and to continually be pro-active and develop new opportunities within these customers, therefore being able to communicate and negotiate are essential
- with regards to prospects, the sales team will feed you leads that come in to the office, however you would be expected to cold call in areas that we deem suitable for the business in order to achieve the targets set
- though it will be down to the individual to generate and grow both their key accounts and new business, they will have the assurance that we have an experienced sales support team in place, as well as the help and guidance of the Senior Sales Manager to help them succeed in their role
- the ideal candidate will have both 2+ years’ experience within the packaging sector and have worked in a Key Account or business development role. Though training of our product range and services will be provided regardless
Requirements
- proven work experience within a key account manager, business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
- strong time management, prioritising and planning skills are essential
- the ideal candidate will be presentable and smart
