• we’re looking for a passionate and talented pastry chef to produce fresh cakes and desserts under the guidance of the Head Chef and to the highest catering standards for our Stables restaurant, cafe and for our weddings, functions and events
• saturday 5th August - Due to high winds forecast we will be closing the gardens and house from midday. The restaurant will be open as usual
• this is a varied role in which you’ll be preparing dishes for the Stables restaurant, on-site café, weddings and special events. You’ll also play a part in devising our seasonally-changing menus, function & event menus

Responsibility

• permanent, Full-time, 40 hours / week
• you will be expected to work weekends, Bank holidays and limited evenings
• this is an annualised role so hours worked may vary from month to month but the salary will be paid monthly in 12 equal instalments over the year

• undertake other reasonable duties, which are compatible within the overall scope of this appointment
• acquire a good knowledge of the Gardens and the Hestercombe Gardens Trust’s role as an independent charity so as to ensure all visitors receive an appropriate welcome and are provided with accurate information
• carrying out regular stock takes and ensure all goods-inward administration is complete
• opening and closing tills and cashing up
• assist with the planning and delivery of events and theming/decorating of the site
• ensure all areas of the Restaurant, Courtyard and function rooms are kept clean at all times. Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to and maintained
