Responsibility
- construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard
- use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks
- measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials according to specifications
- assemble furniture and other wooden items as required
- perform heavy lifting when necessary for transporting materials or equipment
- ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and standards
- collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including electricians and masons, to ensure project completion
- conduct painting tasks as needed for finishing touches on carpentry work
Requirements
- proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry
- proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools
- strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations
- ability to plumb structures accurately for proper alignment
- experience with roofing techniques is advantageous
- knowledge of electrical systems is a plus but not essential
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job demands
