Responsibility
- to provide a professional focus for all aspects of Instrument design review, acceptance and delivery
- be able to assess and advise of Instrumentation and technology suitability for application in the intended environment including Shock/EMC
- production of BoM, Instrument specifications/data sheets
- produce contract deliverable documentation including BoM, general arrangements, assembly, schematic, wiring drawings and supporting documentation
- liaise with our suppliers/OEMs in the provision of equipment certification and compliancy evidence, throughout the acceptance and delivery phases
- produce and update design deliverable items generated from design artifacts and inputs supplied by our design sub-contractors
- review customer requirements including technical specifications, electrical wiring schematics and ICD’s and standards applicable to a naval platforms to decompose Instrument requirements
- to review and implement changes to current design baseline in response to customer requests
Requirements
- HNC/D in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline
- 7 years minimum experience in an C&I environment
- good planning, communications, writing, organisational and co-ordination skills including project engineering experience
- experience in specification, downselection and procurement of Instrumentation for Marine or Defence contracts
- knowledge of marine or industrial control applications and defence projects
- good understanding of structured design, quality, test and acceptance processes & standards relative to the Military / Marine Installations
- computer Aided Design capability would be advantageous
- excellent PC skills
