Responsibility
- the role will also require creating and introducing SOP’s for new measurement methods
- involved primary in supporting the R & D department, your role will involve the execution and development of measurement and tests of micro-structured optical fibres
- developing novel techniques, you will be acquiring data, providing analysis, and producing results for a variety of traditional and cutting-edge measurement techniques

- involvement in research projects and fabricating new test fixtures
- completion of test documentation, reports and records and assist in SOPs for newly developed techniques
Requirements
- experience and expertise in fibre-optic test and measurement equipment
- desirable experience in a hand on capacity of component processes such as routing, cleaving, and splicing
- the ability to work independently with competent in planning and execution of own workload
Show more +12 - qualified to a degree, HND or NVQ4 level in Physics, Chemistry or Engineering
- trouble-shooting skills in optoelectronic systems
- experience in using fibre-optic test and measurement equipment
- education – HND, Degree NVQ4 or equivalent in Engineering or Physics
- skills in using analytical software such as LabVIEW, MATLAB or Python with the willingness to embrace new software and technologies
- troubleshooting skills in optoelectronic systems
- idealy skills in using stand fibre-optic test software such as LABview, Python or MATLAB with the willingness to embrace new software and technologies
- desirable experience
- hands-on skills in cleaving and splicing
- experience in CAD or mechanical design proficiency
- skills in workshop tools such as drills, lathes etc
- this role is offered as a 2-year contract position initially, with longer-term opportunities available within the organisation
