- liaising with customers to establish their product requirements
- ensuring all specifications attached to product are understood and adhered to
- the setting up routes and bills of materials to establish product cost
- to act as a knowledge base to link between Customer and Shop Floor manufacturing
- assisting the purchasing department with non-stock purchased items
- to assist with design or purchase of tooling
Requirements
- vocational qualifications
- time served apprenticeship
- previous experience in manufacturing and costing of Sheet Metal products
- working understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S process desirable
- precision components manufacturing to high quality standards
- good communication skills and telephone manner
- some experience of ERP systems although this is not essential as training can be given
- an understanding of Solid Model software
