Responsibility
- the Superintendent Pharmacist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations within the pharmacy department
- carry out hospital pharmacy dispensary duties as required including all aspects of the services
- to dispense outpatient and discharge prescriptions screened by the Pharmacist
- to maintain sufficient stock levels in the pharmacy and to monitor expiry dates
- to order stock medication for all departments in the hospital and facilitate stock transfer from the pharmacy to the various departments
- promoting a patient focused multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of an efficient, high quality healthcare service
- ensure the correct storage and safe handling of all pharmaceuticals and other products held in pharmacy
- to ensure that pharmacy standard are met and maintained at all times
Requirements
- experience of working within the Private Healthcare industry desirable
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent on Pharmaceutical Science
- recent and relevant experience in hospital pharmacy
- able to articulate complex information clearly to colleagues and patients
- computer literacy for presentation of data, such as MS Office suite
- understanding of range of work practices and procedures requiring theoretical knowledge acquired through training and experience
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- able to check the work of others, identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrections are made
